This CPD Zoom course, accredited by the CMIR, will help you to upgrade your syndrome differentiation with the latest research insights into the biochemical imbalances at the root of emotional disorders.
Dr Xuhua Han (Dean of Studies at the CMIR, acupuncturist and herbalist at AcuMedic Centre) will focus on examples of anxiety and depression, which increased by 25% since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. This are not normal anxiety and depression cases, but a result of the unprecedented combination of grief, isolation and paralysing stress created by the Coronavirus crisis. And they are not going away, but persisting as symptoms of the Long Covid syndrome that's fast becoming a new epidemic.
Dr Han will explain how to use acupuncture to fix the hormonal and neurotransmitter imbalances behind the newly widespread anxiety and depression. She will translate for you the latest scientific research on the biochemistry of emotional disorders and you will learn how to use this crucial information in your choice of acupoints.
If your patient is too weak for acupuncture or the chemical imbalance behind their condition is making the acupuncture ineffective then you can still learn from this course as Dr Han will explain her 'detoxification' strategy of using established Chinese herbal formulae to stabilise the body's internal environment and help acupuncture to achieve maximum effect against anxiety or depression.
